SALVE

Playa Manzanillo, Margarita, Venezuela
2008

This project consists of a painting on the exterior of a boat owned by “Taco” Hernández, a local fisherman whose family Gili has known for a long time. The main idea was to plant a seed of possibilities in the minds of the local boat painters like the child who helped the artist on site. Perhaps one day the boats will be painted to speak a different language to that of straight parallel lines, and to have more playful designs like those on the buses in major Venezuelan cities.
